Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Hayes grew up at the Jersey Shore prior to obtaining his Bachelor of Science in animal bioscience, along with a minor in biology, from The Pennsylvania State University University Park. Afterwards he moved to Los Angeles where he graduated from Western University of Health Sciences College of Veterinary Medicine in 2009. He subsequently completed a rotating internship in emergency critical care and internal medicine at the Animal Emergency Medical Center in Torrance, CA, under the tutelage of Dr. DelGiudice. During his veterinary training he concurrently earned a Masters in Public Health through the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. His professional passions are emergency critical care medicine and epidemiology, and when he is not practicing clinical medicine he is collaborating on various publications in the public health sphere. His clinical interests include sepsis, cardiorespiratory disease, and acid-base disorders. Dr. Hayes loves smushed-face cats, vinyl records, and New York Rangers hockey, though he has since learned to cheer for some Philadelphia-based teams as well.
