Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Scott Kimmel grew up in Texas but spent most of his summers on Long Island with his parents and grandparents. At home he was surrounded by cats, dogs and horses. As a child he rode competitively with is horse, Pegasus, including barrel racing. Dr. Kimmel was very active in scouting and earned his Eagle Scout badge. Dr. Kimmel graduated from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst with an economics degree. While working, he joined the Jamesport Fire Department and became an EMT. After taking time in the business sector, he decided his true calling was medicine and a helping profession. He then attended and graduated from Michigan State University Veterinary School. He joined the MLVH family in 2006 and particularly enjoys internal medicine and surgery. When Dr. Kimmel is not working he enjoys camping, hiking and golfing. He currently lives with the last of his grandmother's six cats, Molly, who is affectionately known as 'the princess'. He feels very lucky to still have her in his life.
