Veterinarian Overview
I have always had a passion for animals, and upon discovering my passion for medicine as well, I embarked on this incredible journey of a veterinary career. Im a native Texan and I attended Texas A&M University and graduated with an undergraduate degree in Biomedical Science, a Masters Degree in Nutrition and Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2003. We moved to St Louis and I have been practicing veterinary medicine since then. I recently became certified in rehabilitation and small animal acupuncture (2013 and 2014, respectively), originating from a desire to better serve my patients that needed additional care in terms of pain, increased quality of life, and having more tools at my disposal to offer clients and pets in need! I am married to another Aggie, Ty, who is co-owner and supportive of our family in so many ways! We have two children, Taylor and Teagyn, who are the light of our lives. I also have one Golden retriever, one papillon and one chihuahua. They always keep life interesting and fun! My other special interests include exercise physiology, pain management, nutrition, and animal behavior. In fact, I believe that exercise, good nutrition and understanding your pets behavior are the key ingredients for a healthy and happy pet! My favorite aspects of this career are the relationships built with clients and working with them to provide a happy and healthy lifetime for their pets and families! When Im not at work, I like to spend time with my husband, children and pets. I love to go running with my dogs and do anything active and outdoors. I have a weakness for Mexican food and also enjoy cooking and trying new recipes.
