Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Mindy Walstra-Hummel grew up in a small town in Northwest Iowa and received her Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Dordt College and her veterinary degree from Iowa State University in 2001. She practiced veterinary medicine as an associate veterinarian at a small animal clinic in the suburbs of Chicago for 7 years and then as a relief veterinarian in Northwest Iowa/Southeast South Dakota for 5 years prior to moving to the St. Louis area. Professionally, Dr. Hummel greatly enjoys getting to know patients and clients, and equipping clients with all of the tools and information necessary to care for their furry companions. She currently has two dogs of her own (Murray Coonhound mix and Chester-Dachshund) and enjoys all things outdoors including hiking, swimming, running, biking, camping, gardening and spending time with her husband and two boys.
