Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Hilary Haslag (Vellios) grew up in Wildwood, MO and graduated from Lafayette High School. While in high school and continuing into college, she worked as a technician at the Nestle Purina Pet Care center in Gray Summit, MO. She attended the University of Missouri and obtained a bacholor degree in Animal Sciences. While earning her degree, she continued work at purina, worked in 2 vet dairy research labs, and worked in the vet school ICU on the Emergency After Hours Clinic Crew. She finished her undergraduate degree in 3 years and then started her masters degree in stress physiology with cattle. One year later she was admitted to the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Missouri, Columbia. In July of 2013, she recived her docorate of veterinary medicine and on August 1st of 2013 she joined Southwest Animal Hospital. She lives with her 9yr old Bouvier named Romy. Her activities include jewelry making, reading, walking, and regular trips to her boyfriend's house in the country where she gardens, wood works, fishes, hunts, and bakes.
