Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Sara Pilkerton was raised in Clements, Maryland on her familys tobacco and hog farm. She graduated from St. Marys Ryken High School in 1997. She enrolled in the College of Notre Dame of Maryland and graduated in 2001 with a Bachelors in Biology. Following graduation, Dr. Pilkerton received the Kirby Foundation Fellowship which allowed her to participate in cancer research at the John Hopkins University for two years. Dr. Pilkerton received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Virginia Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 2008. Dr. Pilkerton looks forward to pursuing her professional interests, including endoscopy and ultrasonography. She keeps her skills up to date by attending local and national continuing education meetings. Dr. Pilkerton currently resides in Clements, Maryland with her husband, Lee, her two daughters, two cats, and a dog. Dr. Pilkerton enjoys traveling with her family in her spare time.
