Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Ryce is a Bay Area native but went to college in New Orleans, which she called home for many years. After being displaced by Hurricane Katrina she moved to higher ground in the California Sierra Foothills and worked as a veterinary ER nurse. She went to vet school at St. Matthew's University in Grand Cayman and performed her clinical year at the University of Illinois and at UC Davis. After graduating from vet school she operated the only emergency clinic in the city of New Orleans for a year before returning to her beloved San Francisco Bay Area. She has worked at San Francisco and Peninsula hospitals since 2015, including Animal Internal Medicine and Specialty Services in San Francisco and San Mateo, and Millbrae Pet Hospital. She loves the fast pace and gratification of emergency room medicine but also loves to be able to provide wellness and care for pets young and old in general practice. When Dr. Ryce isn't practicing veterinary medicine she enjoys horseback riding, exploring nature, cooking, and the many musical offerings of our culturally diverse Bay Area.
