Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Megan Greiner joined Port Royal Veterinary Hospital in May 2014. A native of South Carolina, she attended Clemson University for her undergraduate degree, majoring in animal and veterinary science with a pre-veterinary concentration. She graduated from the Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2011. Dr. Greiner completed a small animal rotating internship at Animal Hospital Specialty Center, where she was then appointed as an emergency veterinarian. Although she loved the fast-paced emergency life and the Colorado Rockies, she is happy with returning to her home state. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and her professional interests include emergency and internal veterinary medicine, focusing on endocrinology. She has volunteered for the World Vets and Wildlife Friends Foundation of Thailand.Dr. Greiner knew she wanted to be a veterinarian at an early age. "My entire family made sure I had every opportunity and supported my decision to pursue any career," she says. "They always knew it would be in the animal field, as I was the child catching lizards and coming home with snails in my pockets!""The knowledge that my efforts can improve a petÂ’s quality of life and care is the most defining purpose of my career," says Dr. Greiner. "I am passionate about delivering the best therapy for patients as well as instilling comfort and education for my clients." At home, Dr. Greiner has all rescues, a Border Collie mix named Guster, a Boxer/Pit Bull mix named Peyton and a Siamese mix named Maggie May. In her free time she enjoys hiking, skiing, spending time on the beach, kayaking, playing guitar and ukele, and supporting Clemson football.
