Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Stacey Carter Strong is an associate veterinarian who has been practicing at Lakeside Animal Hospital since February, 2010. She grew up in Goose Creek, South Carolina, and attended Clemson University where she was in the flag line of the Clemson University Band and a member of the Sigma Alpha Professional Sorority. She graduated from Clemson (magna cum laude) with a BS in Animal Industries in 1998. Dr. Strong soon entered Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine where she was awarded the Summer Fellowship Award for wound management. She earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine, Summa Cum Laude, in 2002. She is also certified by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and has taken continuing education courses in ultrasound. A member of the South Carolina Veterinary Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association, Dr. Strong's areas of professional interest include feline medicine, dermatology and general surgery. Asked why she became a veterinarian, Dr. Strong said, "Growing up I enjoyed working with and helping animals. I also wanted a job that would be challenging on a daily basis, but enjoyable. Being a veterinarian provides daily challenges, new experiences, continual learning and great patients." Dr. Strong resides in the Goose Creek area with her husband Robert. At home, the Strongs keep company with four catsZoe, Little Joe, Charlie and Tonyand a Golden Retriever named Kaylee. During her leisure time, Dr. Strong enjoys gardening, reading and going to the beach.
