Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Kristen M. Lester is an associate veterinarian who has been with Lakeside Animal Hospital since January, 2010. Native to Alexandria, Louisiana, Dr. Lester attended Louisiana Tech University where she graduated summa cum laude with a BS in Animal Science in 2003. While at Louisiana Tech, she also was the Pre-Veterinary Club President. She then entered Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine. While in veterinary school, she was named a Merck-Merial Research Scholar and awarded a Hill's Pet Nutrition Service Scholarship. Dr. Lester graduated with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2006. A member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the South Carolina Veterinary Medical Association and the Trident Veterinary Medical Association, Dr. Lester's particular areas of interest include dermatology and internal medicine. Dr. Lester says that during her early school years her favorite topic was science. "I have always wanted to become a veterinarian," she says. "My grandfather is a veterinarian so at an early age I was exposed to the joys and fulfillment this career provides. My favorite part of practicing veterinary medicine is being challenged to seek out the right answers and provide support to clients through the good and hard times with their pet." At home, Dr. Lester has a Pomeranian named Jeffrey, a German Shepherd mix named O.D., and a domestic shorthair cat named Tucker. She is married to Chris Noland, a transfer admissions coordinator for the College of Charleston. She says they recently moved to this area from Louisiana and are looking forward to the great food and culture that South Carolina offers. When not working, Dr. Lester enjoys all water activities, including water skiing, rafting and tubing. She also enjoys jogging and movies
