Veterinarian Overview
Christiane Massicotte, DVM, MS, PhD, DACVIM (Neurology), received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Montreal in 1994. She then completed an internship program at the University of Minnesota and a residency program at the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. While participating in her residency program, Dr. Massicotte concurrently earned a Masters degree in Neurotoxicology. While at Virginia Tech, she continued her studies in neurotoxicology and obtained her PhD in 2001. Dr. Massicotte earned her board certification as a Diplomate in Neurology at the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in July of 2001. She then worked at the University of Pennsylvania as an Assistant Professor of Neurology while conducting research on molecular biology of the peripheral nervous system. Dr. Massicotte joined AERA as the Director of our Neurology Department in 2005. Her research interests include molecular biology, electrophysiology, and disorders of the peripheral nervous system.
