Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Melissa Wojcik grew up in Hamilton, New Jersey and attended The Pennsylvania State University in Abington, Pennsylvania. Majoring in Life Science with a concentration in pre-medicine, Dr. Wojcik received her Bachelors of Science in 2006. Prior to veterinary school, Dr. Wojcik worked in pharmaceutical supply and manufacturing. On the weekends, she worked as a veterinary technician at a veterinary specialty and emergency center. It was there she realized her heart was in veterinary medicine. In January 2010, Dr. Wojcik started her veterinary education at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in St. Kitts. She was chosen to complete her fourth year and clinical training at the Cornell University Hospital for Animals in Ithaca, NY and graduated in June 2013 with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Wojcik is a member of the American Veterinary Medicine Association, American Animal Hospital Association and American Association of Feline Practitioners. Her primary professional interests include internal medicinefor both cats and dogsbut she shares a special interest/love, and is honored to play a role, in advancing feline therapeutics specifically geriatric medicine and concurrent disease management. Dr. Wojcik shares her life with two entertaining felines: A caribbean kitty, Harper, and her Ragdoll, Noah, who is considered the cat love of her life. She also became a dog mom this year to a French Bulldog named Slater. She also has a human love of her life in her fiancé, Mike, a fifth grade teacher in PA. In her spare time, Dr. Wojcik enjoys reading and eating a LOT of food which she burns off during strength training and Pilates sessions in prep for her next marathon (run all the miles, eat all the food). Dr. Wojcik is passionate and honored about giving Vetco clients and patients her best effort every day and practicing medicine as a form of friendship, celebrating the special love of our furry family members.
