Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Elaine Lutz grew up in Clark, NJ. Her interest in agriculture led her to study Animal Science at Virginia Tech before earning her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine at The Ohio State University in 1983. Upon receiving her D.V.M., Dr. Lutz completed an equine internship at Georgetown Equine Hospital in Charlottesville. She continued to practice equine medicine and surgery in the Charlottesville area until 1985 prior to moving to Warrenton. Dr. Lutz worked locally as a general practitioner and gradually transitioned to an exclusively small animal veterinarian. She opened Piedmont Pets Veterinary Care in April 2002. Dr. Lutz is actively involved with the Fauquier SPCA, serving as a board member since 1986. She is married to Rick Miller and they have two children, two horses, two dogs and a cat.
