Williamson, DVM, DACVD, and her staff at Veterinary Dermatology of Richmond are dedicated to the health and well being of your best friend.When Veterinary Dermatology of Richmond opened its doors, Dr. Nicola Williamson had a vision: to diagnose and treat dogs, cats, horses, and other pets with skin or ear problems and educate their owners about the importance of their pets dermatological health. Extensive research, study at some of the finest institutions in the country, and recognition by leading veterinary publications all make Dr. Williamson one of the most respected experts in the field. Dr. Williamsons work has been published in textbooks and veterinary journals. She has also participated in drug trials with major pharmaceutical companies, helping to further improve the treatment of pets with skin diseases. The wagging tails of her four-legged friends have turned a veterinary profession into a personal passion.After obtaining a Bachelors degree from the University of Virginia, Dr. Williamson became a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine after completing her degree at the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in Blacksburg, Virginia. After an internship in internal medicine and surgery at the Animal Medical Center in New York City, she spent three years completing a residency in Veterinary Dermatology at the University of Tennessee before becoming board-certified in veterinary dermatology by the American College of Veterinary Dermatology.
