Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Willis is a 1994 graduate of the University of Virginia and graduated from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 2000. In veterinary school, Dr. Willis was a member of the student chapter of The Emergency and Critical Care Society and The Honor Society of Phi Zeta and continues to be a member of both as a professional. He is also a member of The Biltmore Who's Who. Dr. Willis began his veterinary career practicing emergency medicine at the Veterinary Emergency Center and has a special interest in internal medicine and surgery. In 2009 Dr. Willis made the move to a full service veterinary practice when he opened Winterfield Veterinary Hospital with his partner Dr. Sara White. In 2013 he and Dr. White purchased Fairfield Veterinary Hospital in the East End. He is excited to be able to once again expand his veterinary reach to the West End and provide care for even more of the Richmond area pets. In his spare time, Dr. Willis enjoys fly fishing, golf, being outdoors and playing lacrosse. Dr. Willis and his two children, Parker and Anne McKinley, reside in the Near West End. Their four legged children include three Japanese Chins, Jellybean, Dickens, and Dudley.
