Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Anne Hiss specializes in companion animal and wildlife medicine. She spent her first three years of school at Ross University and her final year at Oklahoma State University, graduating from veterinary school in 1995. Prior to veterinary school, Dr. Hiss was a licensed wildlife rehabilitator and a volunteer at a large rehabilitation facility in Maryland. She joined Town & Country Animal Hospital in 2000. Continuing her interest in wildlife medicine, she established the Babiga Fund for the treatment of injured and orphaned wildlife. Dr. Hiss donates her time and skill, and Drs. Davis and Hall provide laboratory, radiology, surgical equipment, and the surgical suite at no charge to wildlife. Dr. HissÍ wild patients include bats, squirrels, chipmunks, groundhogs, opossums, raccoons, cottontail rabbits, deer, and various birds. She presents at wildlife rehabilitation conferences, is a published author, and teaches local wildlife rehabilitators first-aid basics. She is a board member of the Save Lucy Campaign, a local nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving bats and educating youth about the importance of bats to local environments. She is also the consulting veterinarian for the organizationÍs rescue and rehabilitation efforts.
