Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Susan Kirk was raised in Fairfax, Virginia where she began her veterinary career as a veterinary assistant and receptionist. She earned a B.S. in Biology from Virginia Tech (Go Hokies!) and graduated magna cum laude prior to attending veterinary school in 2004. After graduating from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine, Susan worked at Stream Valley Animal Hospital in Ashburn/Brambleton from 2008 to 2015. Her professional interests include ophthalmology, surgery, shelter medicine, and animal rescue. When she isnt working, Dr. Kirk likes to spend time with her husband Ken, (a teacher and a writer), whom she married in October 2008, and their fuzzy flock, which includes two mutt-dogs (Annabelle and Pablo) and four tabby cats (Stella, Diana, Paloma, and Seattle). She also loves hiking, boxing, running, baking, and cooking. She now joins our team at Family Vet and Middleburg Animal Hospital and shes already getting terrific reviews from our pet families!
