Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Jim MacLean grew up in Northern Virginia and graduated from West Springfield High School. He has been working in veterinary hospitals since he was 15 years old. He attended Old Dominion University for one year and transferred to Virginia Tech and was accepted early into Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in 1994. He practiced for 12 years in Southern Maryland and has been practicing for the last 10 years in Northern Virginia. He added a MasterÍs Degree from Georgetown University in Business Management in 2011. He has advanced training in ultrasound and endoscopy and has special interest in Preventive Medicine, Internal Medicine, Cardiology and Surgery. He lives locally with his beautiful wife, 4 children, one lizard (Droofus), 2 cats (Jetter and Wee Wee) and 1 happy black lab (Sully). He enjoys running with his speedy wife, mountain biking, and cheering on his kids in lacrosse (boys and girls), soccer and ballet.
