Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Andrew Ayre grew up in southern New York in the town of Suffern. After obtaining a Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science from Cornell University, he ventured to Los Angeles and graduated with a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Western University of Health Sciences. Dr. Ayre then completed a multi-specialty internship at Oradell Animal Hospital in Paramus, NJ before choosing a career in emergency medicine. His professional interests include trauma, toxicological emergencies, surgery, exotic animals and wildlife. Outside of the hospital, he has travelled to Native American reservations to provide care for animals through the Humane Society and, new to the NOVA area, looks to volunteer with local community outreach programs. Dr. Ayre is looking forward to sharing a new life south of the Mason-Dixon Line with his longtime sweetheart and recent fianc_e, a constant source of companionship and supportive encouragement. In his personal time, he enjoys cooking, playing soccer, building friendships and exploring outdoor activities. His current pet family consists of an energetic "dingo", Nala and a rat, Thierry, who loves neck scratches and breakfasts on the patio.
