Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Lisa Restine received her DVM degree from Western University of Health Sciences in Southern California. At twelve years old, her family cat, Rowdy, became ill with hepatic lipidosis (fatty liver disease). Watching the veterinarian treat her cat and bring her back to health ignited a passion in Dr. Restine for feline medicine. Dr. Restine followed this passion into her professional life, working for over six years as a veterinary technician for two clinics in her home state of New Jersey (born and raised!). Simultaneously, she earned her undergraduate degree in Animal Science from Rutgers University where she also participated in the equestrian team, worked with the Seeing Eye Puppy Raising Club, and did research with Standardbred mares. She continued to work as a veterinary technician while studying at Western University, spending her free summers engaged in activities such as studying nesting habits and survival rates of terrapin turtles in the wild. In her spare time, Dr. Restine enjoys dance-both ballet and ballroom, cross stitching, maintaining a healthy knowledge of Disney trivia, and remaining active, especially at the beach. She lives in a full house with her three domestic long hair cats, Ruby, Albus, Roxie, and Burt Tyrannosaurus Macklin, FBI; her two chinchillas, Marshall and Lily; and her husband's snake, Salazar. She spoils them all.
