Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Anne Romeo, a native San Antonian and graduate of MacArthur High School, graduated from Texas A&M University with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2015. Her career in veterinary medicine started in high school when she was a technician at Alamo Feline Health Center. Dr. Romeo worked at Alamo Feline for eight years and decided to pursue her love of learning and helping animals. While continuing to work part-time, she graduated from Texas State University with a B.S. in Biology and a minor in Animal Science. Her love for science and research led her to attend the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio where she researched the role of stem cells in pediatric cancer. Initially planning to continue in science and get her PhD, Dr. Romeo realized how much she missed veterinary medicine and applied to veterinary college. She graduated from the University of Texas with a Master's degree in Cell and Structural Biology and subsequently enrolled in the DVM program at Texas A&M University. During her time at A&M, Dr. Romeo was an active member in the Student Chapter of the American Association of Feline Practitioners and studiously learned all she could about every facet of feline medicine. Furthering her interest in feline medicine, she was on a One Health interdisciplinary research committee, investigating the overarching health effects of feline welfare and how to increase societal regard for feline ownership.Dr. Romeo enjoys an active lifestyle by participating in spinning classes and CrossFit. When not at the gym, she can be found at home spending time with her husband, Blair, and their small menagerie of pets.
