Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Michael Braunsteins passion is veterinary medicine and he has continually sought more knowledge and education in his field, enabling him to provide the most up-to-date veterinary care to his patients. He received his B.S. in Biology from Kansas State University in 1973 and graduated from the University Of Pennsylvania School Of Veterinary Medicine in 1977. He was mentored by Dr. Huisheng Xie and graduated from the Chi Institute in Reddick, Florida with a Certification in Veterinary Acupuncture. He also has attended the North American Veterinary Conference annually since 1990.Dr. Braunstein moved to Mifflin County in 1979, where he established Pleasant View Veterinary Clinic. He later grew his practice to include Juniata Veterinary Clinic in 1996, allowing him to better serve his clients. Dr. Braunstein has been active in the community for over 25 years. He has co-hosted talk shows on a local radio station and answered questions for listeners on air. Also, Dr. Braunstein encourages high school students to pursue the Veterinary field by giving presentations at annual Career Day events at local schools.Dr. Braunstein previously resided in Lewistown, Pennsylvania, but has recently relocated to Texas to continue his expertise in veterinary medicine and joined the Valwood Animal Hospital team in October 2014.He has 2 dogs, Xiao Lin and Kai, and one cat named Bella. They all still control him. He enjoys travelling and spending time with his fantastic daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter in Arlington, Virginia. He is also engaged to a lovely woman named Sara.
