Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Carl Bello grew up in Oklahoma, and received his DVM from Oklahoma State University in 1990. He followed that by an internship at the University of Illinois, in Champaign-Urbana. Since then, he has practiced in Chicago, Oklahoma, Seattle, and now Austin. He enjoys varying aspects of companion animal practice, and is especially grateful to be able to assist folks as they navigate the sometimes challenging aspects of caring for their sick or injured pet. Dr. Bello refuses to be labeled as a dog person or a cat person, finding that he can occupy both those roles (and more!) without skipping a beat. His current roommate, Bruce, is a vibrant, gray tabby who signed on with Carl at a shelter in Idaho in 2015. Bruce enjoys being a cat and sharing his realm with Dr. Bello. Dr. Bello is excited to be near family here in Austin, and in his free time he likes to read, hike, play guitar, and practice yoga and meditation. He is also a licensed professional counselor.
