Veterinarian Overview
Dr. John Edwards was always interested in zoology, but it took 10 years of working in the restaurant industry before he decided to pursue a career in a medical field. It wasnt until he worked as a veterinary technician in Austin that he knew his future was in veterinary medicine. A night owl, he loves emergency medicine. One aspect of veterinary medicine he particularly enjoys is working with owners of geriatric pets, helping to keep their companions as happy and pain free for as long as possible. Education Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, Texas A&M University, College Station Bachelor of Science, Biology, University of Illinois, Champaign Urbana Off Duty Dr. Edwards volunteers his time with many animal rescue organizations. He worked with various rescue groups after Hurricane Katrina and continues to support many wildlife rescue groups. Along with cheering on his favorite team, the Chicago Blackhawks, his favorite pastimes include fishing, camping, canoeing, kayaking, hiking and attending science fiction conventions. He is convinced that his one precocious daughter will one day be better at calculus than her father. They have two dogs and three cats: Gilgamesh, a boxer mix, is adept at finding and eating foreign bodies; Covington, the Chihuahua, has a liver shunt; and their cats include Molly the Brave, Camille the Cowardly and Zombie the drain bamaged.
