Veterinarian Overview
A native of Austin Texas, Dr. Kathryn Gibson is a General Practitioner and the owner of Comal Pet Hospital. Dr. Gibson credits her parents with having encouraged her to follow her childhood dream of becoming a veterinarian. Now that she is a veterinarian and owner of her own practice, she says that all of the hard work is made worthwhile by the pleasure she derives in helping clients ensure their pets lead long and healthy lives. After graduating high school in Austin, Dr. Gibson entered Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2000. During her undergraduate studies, Dr. Gibson was a member of the colleges womens basketball team and the Delta Delta Delta social sorority. In 2003, Dr. Gibson enrolled in Texas A& M Universitys College of Veterinary Medicine. She received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2007. Her area of particular professional interest is dentistry and she is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Texas Veterinary Medical Association. In October of 2010, Dr. Gibson became the owner of Comal Animal Clinic, the predecessor of Comal Pet Hospital. Dr. Gibson and her husband David are the proud parents of two daughters. Their animal family consists of a Golden Retriever named Oliver, Rhodesian Ridgeback named April, and 3 cats: Ike, Peanut and Froyo. Her interests include traveling, reading, enjoying the outdoors, watching Spurs basketball, and playing basketball.
