Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Erwin, a native Texan, spent most of his early years in the Houston area. A graduate of San Jacinto High School, he received a Bachelors and a Masters degree in Physics and Mathematics from Stephen F. Austin State College in Nacogdoches, Texas. He was employed on the faculty at Central Texas College for 4 years before attending Texas A&M University to study veterinary medicine. After graduating from The College of Veterinary Medicine at Texas A&M University in 1975, Dr. Erwin began his career in veterinary medicine in Killeen. In 1976, Dr. Erwin opened Southside Animal Clinic (later to be renamed El Centro Pet Medical & Laser Surgery Center) at its current location on South W.S. Young Drive where he has since practiced. In his 35 years of practice, he has had the privilege of watching hundreds of pets develop from new born to old age as well as their off-spring to do the same through several generations. Dr. Erwin also highly values the many long-term friendships with the families of all these pets that have developed over the years. Dr. Erwin transferred ownership to his long term colleague Dr. Pat Davis and assumed the role of Associate Veterinarian in 2009.
