Veterinarian Overview
Im Cory E. Stiles D.V.M. I started Stiles Veterinary Services in early 2012, after selling my companion animal practice in Houston, Texas. Now that I am no longer involved in a day-to-day small animal practice, I can spend my time in my special interest Veterinary Acupuncture. After several years of independent study, I became certified in veterinary acupuncture in 1990, through the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society (IVAS). Over the years, acupuncture became a large part of my practice. I continued my education in acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) with the American College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in southwest Houston. Even though I had no desire to treat humans, they allowed me to take many classes in the theory of TCM and in herbal medicine. Today, I teach an elective course there in veterinary acupuncture. Since leaving practice, I have developed a house call practice in veterinary acupuncture. I also consult with local veterinarians about patients who might benefit from acupuncture or herbs.
