Veterinarian Overview
Patty has loved animals for as long as she can remember. When she was born, her mother had just adopted a six-month old puppy named Brownie. Patty grew up with the pup, who quickly became her best friendshe would even eat the dog biscuits meant for Brownie! Dr. Grana grew up in Arizona. She began her academic career by earning a Masters degree in International Business, studying many languages and becoming proficient in Spanish. She then went on to have a successful career in the Los Angeles film industry. After many years, though, the itch to pursue her life-long veterinary dream came calling! She made a drastic right turn in her career, attended veterinary school at Texas A&M, and hasnt looked back since. She came to West Oaks Animal Hospital in the fall of 2014. As a veterinarian, Dr. Grana likes a good dermatology case and is also passionate about client education, which she recognizes as the true key to a successful doctor-client-patient relationship. Shes also very interested in exotic animal medicine. At home, Patty and her teenage son own several pets. Bella the dog is the first pet that Dr. Grana ever spayed, and Lynx the cat was adopted from a medical research program. They also have pet birds. In her time away from the clinic, Dr. Grana enjoys horseback riding, reading, and traveling. Shes traveled through Europe and Central America, and has even sailed around the world on a ship! Her motto: Have passport, will travel!
