Veterinarian Overview
Owner of the Animal ER of Northwest Houston, Dr Jennifer Hennessey Bremseth has over 17 years of experience in emergency and critical care. Dr. Hennessey Bremseth's vision of an emergency practice designed and devoted to the customized care of both families and their pets lead her to develop the Animal ER in 2014. A 2005 graduate of Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr Hennessey Bremseth carries additional training as a Certified Veterinary Journalist with the American Society of Veterinary Journalists. Dr Hennessey Bremseth is published in numerous magazines and journals, has a column in the Texas Veterinarian magazine, as well as is a frequent guest for Houstons Fox 26, KPRC 2 News and on Great Day Houston. Professional interests include prevention of emergency illness, utilization of lipid emulsion for toxin exposure, and management of trauma patients. Dr Hennessey Bremseth serves on the TVMA Public Relations Committee as well as holds memberships with the Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care Society, the Harris County Veterinary Medical Association, the Texas Veterinary Medical Association, Veterinary News Network, the American Veterinary Medical Association, the American Association of Rehabilitation Veterinarians (AARV) , the International Association of Veterinary Rehabilitation and Physical Therapy (IAVRPT) and the International Veterinarian Academy of Pain Management (IVAPM). Off site, Dr Hennessey Bremseth is actively involved with the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine helping support their local emergency medicine society and works with vet students onsite at the ER as a mentor. Dr Hennessey Bremseth most recently enjoyed time as the Program Director at Pima Medical Institute and helped launch their new Veterinary Technician program. In 2015, Dr Hennessey Bremseth will be working as a lead veterinary advisor for a new project evaluating the nutritional care for dogs with cancer at the KetoPet Sanctuary. Outside of the ER, Dr Hennessey Bremseth is a mother of two amazing kiddos and proud wife of Army Sergeant Major Greg Bremseth. Committed to her own health and well-being, Dr Hennessey Bremseth is a nationally qualified NPC Figure and Bikini competitor earning many fitness awards including a NPC 2015 Overall Champion in Masters Bikini in California and the 2012 Texas State Natural Figure Champion. Dr Hennessey Bremseth is a sponsored athlete with Team Formulation 1 Nutrition. In a mission to stay connected with the local communities of NW Houston, Dr Hennessey Bremseth recently served as an officer on the board for the Greater Houston Quarter Horse Association and now enjoys community work at area Cy-Fair schools talking to students about pet care and veterinary medicine.
