Veterinarian Overview
I am a Texas native, born and raised in Plains, Texas. I attended Texas A&M University where I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Science. After graduating, I transferred to Western University of Health Sciences in California, where I received my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2008. I joined the VCA family immediately after that through an internship with VCA Vet Care Animal Hospital in New Mexico, where I worked from 2008-2009 and gained experience in Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, Ultrasonography, Surgery and Oncology. I then moved back home to Texas, and worked at VCA Beltline East Animal Hospital in Dallas for three years while seeing mostly emergency cases. I was promoted to Assistant Medical Director at VCA Lakewood Animal Hospital for one year and then joined the VCA Advanced Care Animal Hospital family as their Medical Director in 2014. I have worked in the veterinary field since I was in high school, where I started out as a kennel tech. I knew at a very early age that this was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I enjoy coming to work to make a difference in the lives of pets and their owners, and continue to learn every day. I have a wonderful husband, two young daughters, a miniature Australian Shepherd and a turtle who keep me busy. I look forward to meeting you and your pets!
