Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Stephanie Pratt grew up in New Mexico. She obtained her doctorate degree at Colorado State University in May 2000. A year after graduation, she relocated to Austin with her husband Travis. Her love and appreciation for animals began when she started showing horses at age five. By age 15, she was working at her familys veterinary practice in Santa Fe and continued there during vacation periods throughout her college years. She is the 12th Veterinarian in her family. Her grandfather, Dr. Edwin Smith was Smokey Bears veterinarian when he was injured as a cub in a forest fire.Dr. Pratt has grown to appreciate the special human-animal bond that exists between pets and their owners. This appreciation is what drives her to provide the best medicine possible, maintaining that healthy bond. She enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine and has special interests in surgery and internal medicine.In her free time, Dr. Pratt enjoys fishing, horseback riding, camping, boating, watching her children play sports and spending time with her husband and family. Her children, Colton age 10 and Aspen age 8, keep her very busy with softball and baseball on her days off as a doctor. Their family pets are a young lab mix named Hank who is full of fun energy and a very sweet cat named Jackie Robinson .
