Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Scott Sabelhaus was born and raised outside of Dallas, Texas. He obtained a Bachelors of Science degree in Biology at The University of Texas at Dallas while working as a veterinary technician and playing in a touring band. Upon completion of undergraduate college, Dr. Sabelhaus worked as a research technician for the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center performing biochemical and nuclear magnetic resonance imaging research. Shortly after, he moved out to California with his pup Macy to attend Western University of Health Sciences College of Veterinary Medicine. He met his beautiful wife in veterinary school and moved out to the San Diego area after graduation. During his first year in San Diego he attended a small animal rotating internship at VCA Emergency Animal Hospital and Referral Center. Since the completion of his internship, Dr. Sabelhaus worked in general practice and emergency veterinary hospitals; and welcomed the birth of his son. Besides emergency and critical care medicine, his professional interests include surgery, internal medicine, ophthalmology, neurology, nutrition, and ruminant medicine and surgery. Outside of the profession, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends. His hobbies include physical fitness, drumming, music, fishing, hiking and being outdoors.
