Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Stephen Willis was influenced in the veterinary world by his parents. They taught him how important it was to take care of those who could not speak for themselves, and that it was his responsibility to get a pet help if something was wrong. Dr. Willis wanted to be a veterinarian since he was six years old!
Dr. Willis was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas. As a junior in high school, he began working as a Kennel Assistant at a local clinic. By the time hed graduated, Dr. Willis career path was set. He attended Texas A&M University for his undergraduate degree and his DVM degree. From 1988 to 1999, he served at another Texas animal hospital before moving to Flower Mound. He founded his own practice, Critter Care Animal Hospital, in 1999.
Preventative health care is Dr. Willis favorite aspect of veterinary medicine. He loves educating pet owners and often must remind himself to rein in his enthusiasm! He also enjoys getting to see a new puppy and knowing the wonderful journey that lies ahead.Dr. Willis wife Amy works as a nurse anesthetist. They share their home with two dogs, Patches and Herbie, as well as three cats named Buddy, Larry, and Levi. Patches and Herbie even come to work with Dr. Willis every day, where they hang out with the clinic cats, Boots and Jethro.
Dr. Willis is one of the most passionate Texas A&M football fans youll ever meethes attended over 250 games since 1961 and always maintains season tickets. He even knows the height, weight, and hometown of nearly every player on the team roster!When he isnt cheering on his beloved Aggies, Dr. Willis enjoys model railroading and is active in several model railroad organizations. His neighbors are still talking about a recent open-house convention in which a tour bus deposited about 30 model railroaders on his doorstep!
