Veterinarian Overview
Dr. McCann grew up in the oceanside city of Nanaimo on Vancouver Island, BC. She received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2001 from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. She then went to southern California for an equine medical and surgical Internship. Dr. McCann worked in private practice as an equine veterinarian for 4 years prior to changing her focus to small animal medicine and surgery in 2005. Her veterinary skills have taken her all across North America, however, she and her husband are very happy to be back in the South. Dr. McCanns veterinary interests include wound care, emergency surgery and caring for critically ill patientsIn her spare time, Dr. McCann enjoys spending time with her husband and their 2 dogs- Gulliver and Naula, having fun with friends and family, riding and competing in dressage with her Oldenburg mare Rosatta,travelling, yoga, and laying on a sunny beach with a good book.
