Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Gies, a North Carolinian, graduated from the North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Excluding a year in general practice, she practices emergency medicine and surgery, each giving her great satisfaction. She works with the Humane Society and World Vets organizations to provide spay and neuter services, also teaching techniques to the organizationsÂ’ veterinary students.After Hours: Dr. Gies and Aaron, a Ph.D. candidate in Historical Theology, are happy to return to South Carolina. In 2008, his academic studies took them to Washington, DC. Their son, James, is learning to walk, keeping both busy, as do their lab mix, Ferris, snowshoe cat, Boniface, and papillion, Talmadge. After hours, Dr. Gies travels, kayaks, practices yoga, Pilates, and boxes, reads, and enjoys culinary pleasures
