Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Anne Grimsley Cook grew up in Beaufort, SC where her family still resides. She attended Sewanee (University of the South), a small liberal arts college in Tennessee. She graduated summa cum laude in 1993 with a major in theology and minor in biology. She graduated summa cum laude from veterinary school at the University of Georgia in 1997. After completing an internship at Kansas State University, she then went to Virginia Tech where she completed an equine residency and masters program in 2001. She then completed her ophthalmology residency at Carolina Veterinary Specialists in Greensboro, NC. She is a board certified veterinary ophthalmologist (www.acvo.org). Dr. Cook has worked at Animal Eye Care since 2006, and purchased the practice in 2010. Dr. Cook is an avid horse lover, but also enjoys yoga, golf, running, biking, swimming and other outdoor activities. She also competes in dog agility with her Boykin Spaniel, Hunley. She also enjoys spending time with her husband Dr. Wesley Cook (a small animal surgeon), her son and her three dogs.
