Veterinarian Overview
Fishtown Animal Hospital was founded by our veterinarian_owner, Lauren Cohn, DVM, CVA. Following graduation from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2011, Dr. Cohn completed a rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Red Bank Veterinary Hospital in Tinton Falls, NJ. She then went on to complete a specialty internship in Radiation Oncology at the University of Pennsylvania. She simultaneously earned her Certification of Veterinary Acupuncture (CVA) and Traditional Chinese Medicine at the Chi Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Florida. With a diverse education as a foundation, Dr. Cohn offers a well_rounded approach to veterinary medicine through both conventional and alternative therapies. She opened Fishtown Animal Hospital with the goal of placing knowledge and patient interests above all else. Dr. Cohn understands how stressful it can be when your pet is sick, and believes communication is key in developing treatment plans and helping you and your pet through difficult situations. Dr. Cohn lives in the Northern Liberties section of Philadelphia with her five rescue cats (Asia, Damien, Seven, Penelope and Ellie) and her dog Kane, that she rescued from the Caribbean when she was in vet school. She also has two saltwater fish tanks, one of which has sea horses.
