Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Caniglia completed a three-year residency in Anesthesia and Analgesia at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. She joined the CARES team in 2011, and became board certified by the American College of Veterinary Anesthesia and Analgesia in 2012. Anesthesia is a small specialty, and has historically been limited to veterinary teaching hospitals. Dr. Caniglia became an anesthesiologist with the goal of providing this same high standard of care to patients receiving anesthesia in a private referral hospital. In addition, Dr. Caniglia is also available for consultation, training and education for general veterinary practices in the region. Dr. Caniglia says that developing the anesthesia specialty at CARES has been a very rewarding experience. She enjoys providing a pain-free and safe anesthetic experience for all types of patients and procedures. Dr. Caniglias family includes daughter Sofia, husband Todd and 2 dogs (a portuguese water dog and a wire fox terrier). Dr. Caniglia and her family love to travel, especially to Italy, her favorite place in the world so far! They often have friends over for big dinners. Food, wine and cooking are her passions outside of work. Recently Dr. Caniglia started running and has completed a number of races.
