Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Ortiz grew up in Mexico; he received his Veterinary degree from the University of Tamaulipas in Mexico in 1983. He attended a postgraduate program in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at the Animal Medical Center in New York City in 1988, and completed two years of the clinical curriculum in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine (1989 1991).He started working at WVMC in 1991 as an associate veterinarian and became a partner in 1995.Dr. Ortiz shares his home with his wife and their three children, dog Daisy (an Airdale Terrier), and two cats, Teeka and Fluffy. He enjoys cycling, skiing, hiking, jogging, and doing things with his family.Dr. Ortiz is our Director of Surgery here at Wright Veterinary Medical Center. As Surgery Director his role is to Maintain and Improve the Surgical Standards here at the hospital.
