Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Kandace Henry grew up in Denver, Colorado with the eventual life goals of becoming a concert pianist and a veterinarian until a devastating recital brought 50% of that crashing down. She earned her BSc and commission from the US Air Force Academy then spent 5 years as an engineer and French interpreted in Germany, France, and Tuscon. She spent a few unfulfilling years working in Corporate America as a project manager before biting the bullet and heading back to school. Kandace graduated from the University of Tennessee, College of Veterinary Medicine in 2008 and completed a year-long internship at Alameda East Animal Hospital. She dove into emergency medicine and has worked at hospitals in Denver, Boulder, Vancouver (British Columbia), and Portland. She joined VCA North Portland Veterinary Hospital in Spring 2015 as a relief doctor and was hired on full time in Summer 2015. Dr. Henry lives in North Portland and loves to hate (or hates to love) running, loves (for real) travelling, carbs, coffee, and video games.
