Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Thompson grew up in southeastern Oklahoma and graduated from Wetumka High School. He is a 2000 graduate of Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine and served four years on active duty in the Army Veterinary Corps after graduation. He was stationed at Fort Sill, OK, for 18 months. In 2002, he became the veterinarian for the Department of Homeland Security Canine Enforcement Program, stationed in Front Royal, Virginia. After the Army, he began full-time work at an emergency practice in northern Virginia. In the fall of 2006, Dr. Thompson moved back to Oklahoma to be closer to family, and he began working at the Animal Emergency Center in Tulsa. He has a special interest in emergency and trauma surgery, as well as treatment of toxins and poisonings. Dr. Thompson lives in Owasso with his wife, three children, two dogs, one cat, two turtles, and numerous fish. In his free time, he enjoys OSU football and basketball games, hunting, fishing, camping, and traveling.
