Veterinarian Overview
Continuing a 40 year tradition of Pet care excellence, Dr. Agustin Cuesta became the owner of Airport Animal Hospital in 2009. Armed with degrees in human as well as veterinary medicine, Dr. Cuesta set out to make human-quality medicine accessible to Pets, treating your Pet like family. Dr. Cuesta was born in the Philippines and raised in the Washington, D.C. area. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine and his DVM degree in 1997 from Ross University with fourth year studies at Oklahoma State University. Previously, Dr. Cuesta practiced in Columbus, Ohio, where he worked at MedVet, Veterinary Diagnostics and the Ohio State University Medical Center. He also founded Good Shepherd Mobile Veterinary Services to help animals in need. Upon moving to Toledo, Dr. Cuesta practiced at Total Pet Care and Banfield Pet Hospital. He is a member of AVMA, OVMA and ASCP.Also a long time member of the Humane Society, Dr. Cuesta met his wife Heather while volunteering there. They were married in 2002, and they have a daughter, Nina, who takes after her parents affection for all things furry. Heather holds degrees in art and design, and is the creative force behind all of the art in the hospital and illustrations on the website. The Cuesta family pets include Patience, a mixed breed dog, and four tabby cats (Teacup, Martha, Chopstick & Beatrice), all adopted or rescued. When Dr. Cuesta is not in the clinic (which is rare!), he enjoys sports, tinkering with his car, and spending time with his family. With over 17 years experience in veterinary medicine, Dr. Cuesta possesses a unique combination of empathy, warmth and insight, fully devoted to the care of your Pet.
