Veterinarian Overview
Sheila S. Mansfield, D.V.M, is the owner and founding veterinarian of Powell Veterinary Clinic. Dr. Mansfield grew up in New England where her love for her old horse, Queenie, was partly responsible for her career choice. Sheilas father, a well-known Western-theme artist, took his daughter to observe a veterinarian at work. As they watched a rectal examination being done on a cow. Mr. Scott turned in horror to his daughter- "You want to do THAT?" Apparently the answer was yes. Dr. Mansfield graduated from the Ohio State University Veterinary School in 1978 and, after working with another Columbus veterinarian and at the Columbus Veterinary Emergency Service, opened her own practice in the village of Powell (mostly cornfields at that time) in 1982. Some of you remember the tiny building at the Powell Rd. intersection where the Clinic was born. Sheila has a country home shared with her husband, son, two horses named Byron and Charlie, and Rocky the cat.
