Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Joey Branstutter had a passion to become a veterinarian since childhood. From collecting insects in the back yard of his Indiana home to hamsters, scorpions, and multiple other creatures he has kept as pets, that child-like passion for knowledge and caring has stayed alive. He looks forward to seeing your pet, as each one is a new challenge and adventure. In addition to exotic animal medicine, Dr. Branstutter also sees many canine and feline cases each week, treating a variety of allergic, dental, routine surgical and cases requiring critical care. He loves all creatures great and small! Dr. Branstutter takes special interest in gastrointestinal cases and wound-healing challenges as well as preventative medicine.Dr. Branstutter graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2006. His clinical year was completed at Louisiana State School of Veterinary Medicine with an emphasis in exotic animal medicine, including externship experience at the Baton Rouge Zoo. Prior to veterinary school, Dr. Branstutter earned his masters degree in physiology from Ball State University and worked in medical diagnostics and prostate cancer research. Since graduation from veterinary school, Dr. Branstutter has practiced small animal and exotic pet medicine in Phoenix, AZ for two years and in Ohio for the past eight years.In his spare time, Dr. Branstutter enjoys self-publishing: he his the author of three books, Misty Vistas Inspired Poems; Study the Winners Way; and So You Want to Be a Veterinarian? He loves being with his wife, Chara and their little Markie.
