Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Julie Wolfe grew up in Burlington, Kentucky with her twin sister and older brother. Since she was a little girl she wanted to be a veterinarian, adopting many pets throughout the years including dogs, cats, gerbils, fish, ducks, chickens and horsesSpending a summer taking horse riding lessons and cleaning stalls at a local horse barn, Julie fell in love with horses and continued to make them a daily part of her activity. One of the best moments of her life was delivering her first foal out of her mare in her barn. Something about watching a newborn foal stand, nurse and nicker ignited her compassion for horses and all animals, and a passion she used to become a veterinarianDr. Wolfe attended Georgetown College where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. During her tenure at Georgetown College she worked as a surgery tech at Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital in Lexington, KY and shadowed at multiple small animal clinics. Dr. Wolfe attended Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine where she received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2008.After graduating she returned to Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital and completed both a hospital internship and ambulatory internship, before returning home to Burlington, KY to start her work as a veterinarian. Having spent more than three years working with animals in the Burlington area, Julie is excited to join Peach Grove Animal Hospital! She is happy to join a team that is compassionate towards animals and clientele, and provides a high level of care.When not working you will find Dr. Wolfe spending time with her own pets, taking in a Reds or Bengals game, or spending time boating on the Ohio River. She's currently learning the joys of maintaining her own barn and land.
