Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Carrie DiCarlo was born in Northwest Ohio, grew up in Maumee, Ohio where her family still lives. Dr. DiCarlo graduated from Cornell University with a degree in Animal Science. She then went to vet school at The Ohio State University where she graduated in 2004. She went to vet school for a career in dairy production medicine. After a career altering injury in 2008, Dr. DiCarlo switched gears and has been happily working with cats and dogs ever since. She enjoys working with people and animals. She feels lucky to have such a versatile career. Dr. DiCarlo received specialized training while doing an internship in Farm Animal Medicine and Surgery at The Ohio State University. She has also completed several continuing education courses on dentistry and dental surgery. Dr. DiCarlos professional interests are companion animal reproduction and ultrasound. She has received several awards: Graduated Magna Cum Laude; Pfizer Large Animal Clinical Proficiency Award; OSU CVM Excellence in Preventive Medicine; OCU CVM Marysville Ambulatory Excellence Award; and she received the AABP Amstutz Scholarship. Dr. DiCarlo is a member of American Veterinary Medical Association, New York State Veterinary medical Society, and Society for Theriogenology, and American Association of Bovine Practitioners. Her personal interests are Ohio State Football, running, and spending time on Lake Erie with her family in Ohio. She resides in Canandaigua, NY with her husband, Bob, and their two children, Nora and Ian. Her husband is a partner at Fa-Ba farm in Canandaigua. Dr. DiCarlo and their children are often at the dairy farm helping out or playing with the calves. Their furry family consists of some cats: Francis, Lola, Simon, and Amelia; and two pet heifers: Fruit Snack and Meatball (named by the kids, of course).
