Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Covitz began his education at Cornell University, spending 2 years at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1973 and from the New York State College of Veterinary Medicine, Cornell, in 1977. He spent the next 8 years at multi-person and emergency/surgery facilities, as well as acting as a relief veterinarian at numerous small animal practices, all of which awarded him a tremendous amount of varied experience. He bought the Carmel Animal Hospital in 1985 and moved the practice to its current location in 1992. Occasionally he has worked with another veterinarian, and he enjoys a long-term working relationship with his employees; in fact, his present staff has a combined total of 80 years of loyal service to CAH, caring for and loving other people's pets. Dr. Covitz has two adult children. In his free time, he enjoys gardening, traditional Japanese martial arts, Ikebana, and cooking. (More on this on the upcoming blog)
