Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Sarah Hileman grew up in the small town of Grand Ledge, Michigan where her love for animals was nurtured from an early age. She was constantly trying to play doctor to everything from baby bunnies to injured cowbirds that would fly down their chimney. She finally fulfilled her dream of becoming a veterinarian when she graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Michigan State University in May of 2014. She and her husband then moved across the country to take a position at Desert Inn Animal Hospital in Las Vegas. While there, she developed her medical skills with a variety of challenging cases and became a key member of their reproductive team, aiding breeders with breeding timing, artificial insemination, caesarian sections and neonatal care. Dr. Hileman is very excited to be joining the Advanced Pet Care family, bringing with her a passion for internal medicine, diagnostic ultrasound and preventive care. Dr. Hilemans heart lies with Physical Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine and she is currently undergoing the Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner program through the University of Tennessees College of Veterinary Medicine. After years of competing with her now retired Dutch Shepherd and Belgian Malinois, she has a special love for training and conditioning the canine athlete in addition to keeping our four-legged family members comfortable and active well into their geriatric years. When not looking after the patients under her care, Dr. Hileman loves to spend time hiking and camping with her husband Francisco, young son Jehu, and two working dogs Rhema and Caspian. At home, she finds nothing better than curling up on the sofa, either reading or writing a variety of fantasy (she considers herself both a Tolkienite and a member of the Harry Potter fandom) with her tabby-cat Strider looking over her shoulder or attempting to sleep on her keyboard
