Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Kate Heller joined the Westfield Animal Hospital medical team in January 2018. Dr. Heller is originally from Maplewood, NJ and has always wanted to be a veterinarian. She enjoys emergency and internal medicine. Dr. Heller says, I like getting to solve complex medical problems, forming relationships within the community, and ensuring my patients have satisfying and healthy lives. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Australian Veterinary Association. Dr. Heller graduated from the College of William and Mary in 2007 with a dual degree in Chemistry and Psychology. After college, Dr. Heller was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Dominica from 2007-2008. She then attended the University of Melbourne in Australia where she received her veterinary degree in 2015. At home, Dr. Heller lives with her husband, Greg, and their two cats, Toby and Scamps. When Dr. Heller is not working at the hospital she enjoys traveling, scouting around for the best thrift shops in NJ, hiking, and cooking elaborate meals that leave no leftovers behind!
