Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Bergs love of veterinary medicine developed at her fathers side as the daughter of a veterinarian here in South Jersey. Dr. Berg graduated with honors from George Washington University before working in human Pediatric Hematology and Oncology as a Cytogenetic Specialist, but soon realized this was not her passion. It was not until she began working at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine, first as a volunteer and then as a nurse, that she rediscovered the love she had working with animals as a child in her fathers animal hospital. After earning her doctorate in veterinary medicine at Penn, she worked as a practitioner of both general and emergency medicine, ultimately owning her own hospital for many years. Today, she brings more than twenty years of experience to the emergency team at Saint Francis. Outside of work, Dr. Berg shares her home with a number of adorable animals, her husband who is also a veterinarian and two active boys who keep their mother plenty busy with their antics.
